Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden

International Airport can reach Peradeniya Park after passing 227 km.
Peradeniya Botanical Gardens can be
considered as the largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. The Mahavali Ganges, the longest river in Sri
Lanka, bends in the U-shape and borders the park on all three sides, making it
one of the coolest highlights of the park. Covering an area of 147 acres (59 ha) , this botanical garden
is approximately 200 years old and has over 4500 species of plants. Different types of
rose flowers, orchids, Palm-tree varieties and Dipteracarbus species can be
found in this park. You can find different types of domestic and
foreign Orchid flowers in the specially designed existing Orchid flowers
assembly.
The path order is found in the planned layout for getting inside the park.
Many people walk on the suspension bridge every day as the suspension bridge is
considered to be one of the most fascinating things. A special feature of this botanical garden is that it has
been set up in a charitable setting that will appeal to the minds of domestic
and foreign tourists a like. You can
visit this Peradeniya Park from 8.00 am to 5:30 pm by paying and receiving a receipt.
The park consists of lawns,
suspension bridge, flower garden, training center and sales outlet. The park is well connected to the research site of the
University of Peradeniya This
botanical garden is supervised by the Department of National Botanic Gardens,
Sri-lanka and also comes here through the Kannoruwe Agricultural Research
Station. There is also a planned lane system.
